The JOYO R20 King of Kings is a classic vintage-style overdrive pedal featuring a versatile 1+1 dual-channel design. Each channel has its own independent gain, volume and tone controls, allowing the two overdrive circuits to be used individually or combined to create a broader range of driven tones.

Inspired by classic overdrive characteristics, the King of Kings can deliver everything from warm, responsive overdrive and gritty crunch to vintage-style distortion. When the two channels are combined in series, their individual characteristics can be layered together for greater gain, saturation and tonal complexity.

Each channel features an independent diode clipping circuit and Feedback switch, providing additional options for shaping the character and response of each overdrive channel. With independent controls for both channels, the R20 offers a highly flexible approach to building and stacking vintage-inspired drive tones.

Part of JOYO's Revolution Series, the King of Kings combines classic analogue-inspired tonal character with a distinctive modern pedal design, including JOYO's signature R-series ambience LED lighting.

Dual-Channel Overdrive Design

The King of Kings' defining feature is its 1+1 dual-channel architecture, providing two independently controllable overdrive circuits within one pedal.

Each channel includes:

• Gain control for adjusting the amount of overdrive
• Volume control for setting the channel's output level
• Tone control for shaping the overall tonal character
• Diode Clipping switch for altering the clipping characteristics

The King of Kings features JOYO's distinctive R-series ambience LED lighting, combining a modern visual design with the pedal's vintage-inspired tonal character.

The ambience lighting can be configured using the dedicated toggle:

• SYNC – ambience LEDs operate in conjunction with the footswitches
• ALWAYS – side ambience LEDs remain illuminated while the top LED follows the footswitch
• OFF – side ambience LEDs are switched off while the top LED follows the footswitch

The lighting system adds a distinctive visual element to the pedal without affecting its audio functionality.
