The JOYO R03 “UZI” is a high-gain distortion pedal built specifically for heavy music, delivering powerful, aggressive distortion with a broad range of tonal shaping. Designed as part of the JOYO Revolution Series, the UZI combines high-gain distortion with a versatile 3-band EQ and a unique BIAS control for shaping the character and response of the distortion.

At the heart of the UZI is its dynamic GAIN and VOLUME design. As the GAIN control is adjusted, the internal signal level is automatically balanced to help maintain a consistent output volume without requiring constant adjustment of the VOLUME control.

High-Gain Heavy Distortion

The UZI is designed around a powerful, saturated distortion sound with the gain range suited to heavy styles.

Its high-gain character provides a strong foundation for aggressive rhythm tones, heavy riffs and saturated lead sounds, while the dedicated EQ section allows the overall frequency balance to be shaped to suit different amplifiers, guitars and playing styles.

Unique BIAS Control

One of the defining features of the R03 UZI is its BIAS control.

The BIAS knob changes the character and response of the distortion, allowing the sound to move between different tonal personalities. Its range is designed to cover the character of both American-style and British-style distortion, while also influencing the feel and definition of the distortion's attack.

This gives the UZI considerably more tonal flexibility than a conventional high-gain distortion pedal.

Dynamic GAIN & VOLUME Balance

The UZI features a specially designed relationship between its GAIN and VOLUME controls.

As the GAIN setting is changed, the pedal automatically adjusts the internal signal level to help maintain a consistent final output volume. This dynamic balancing means changes to the amount of distortion can be made without the output level shifting dramatically.

3-Band EQ

The dedicated LOW, MID and HIGH controls provide independent tonal shaping across the frequency spectrum.

• LOW - shapes the low-frequency response and overall weight
• MID - adjusts the midrange character and presence
• HIGH - shapes high-frequency definition and brightness

Together with the BIAS control, the 3-band EQ provides extensive control over the final distortion character.

Revolution Series Design

The R03 UZI is part of the JOYO Revolution Series, featuring a compact, durable enclosure designed for pedalboard use.

The pedal includes integrated ambience lighting with three selectable LED modes:

• SYNC - front, rear and top LEDs respond to the footswitch status
• ALWAYS - side ambience LEDs remain illuminated while the top LED follows the footswitch
• OFF - side ambience LEDs are disabled while the top effects indicator remains active
