G10 Charango: The Soul of the Andes in Your Hands

The G10 Charango is perfect for musicians who crave something unique, culturally rich, and sonically vibrant. Whether you’re a folk enthusiast, a Latin American music lover, or someone seeking to add exotic textures to your compositions, this charango will elevate your playing experience.

Ideal for:

  • World music players who want to experiment with traditional Andean sounds.

  • Traveling musicians looking for a compact, lightweight, and versatile instrument.

  • Collectors and gearheads who appreciate instruments with deep cultural roots and beautiful craftsmanship.

  • Songwriters wanting a fresh, inspiring instrument for creating catchy melodies with a distinct voice.

Evolution of the Charango

The charango’s history traces back to the indigenous people of the Andes during the Spanish colonization of South America. It was inspired by the vihuela, a stringed instrument brought by Spanish settlers. Early charangoes were crafted using armadillo shells as the body, giving it a unique tone and appearance.

Over time, the charango evolved into a more standardized wooden-bodied instrument, offering greater resonance and durability. Today, modern charangoes like the G10 are made with high-quality tonewoods, combining traditional construction with refined acoustic performance. With 10 strings arranged in five courses, it produces a bright, rich sound that can mimic both guitar and mandolin tones.
